I am thrilled to see a major municipality make this kind of move and Dallas has done it. Many cities including Louisville, have set goals for City buildings to increase energy efficiencies and some have passed laws on the matter. Dallas has raised the bar to require that residential construction meets their Green guidelines. The plan is for a phased approach that begins in 2009 and is finalized in 2011. This ordinance is an important step in the right direction for the residential construction market. I look for additional major cities to follow suit and to that I say, bring it on!
